Leucophenga retihirta View in CoL sp. nov.

( Figs 3 View FIGURE 3 J, 9C, 9D, 12B, 16E, 16F, 35)

Diagnosis. This species differs from the other ornata group species by having the thorax nearly entirely dark brown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 C, D); the aedeagus nearly entirely reticulated, expanded distally ( Fig. 35 View FIGURE 35 D).

Description. Ocellar triangle black, with 3 setae above ocellar setae. Frons dark brown. Pedicel brown; first flagellomere brownish. Clypeus brown. Palpus brownish yellow. Mesonotum and pleura dark brown ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 C). Postpronotal lobe brownish ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 D). Acrostichal setulae in 12–14 irregular rows ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 C). Scutellum dark brown, yellow at tip ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 C). Wing ( Fig. 3 View FIGURE 3 J): Costal vein between R2+3 and R4+5 distally with 6 peg-like spinules on ventral surface. Abdominal tergites dark brown, with yellow patches ( Fig. 12 View FIGURE 12 B). Male terminalia: Epandrium pubescent near ventral margin, with 10 setae near posterior margin per side ( Fig. 35 View FIGURE 35 A). Paramere with pubescence medially and 4 sensilla subapically ( Fig. 35 View FIGURE 35 C). Aedeagus with pubescence apically ( Fig. 35 View FIGURE 35 D).

Measurements. BL = 3.53 mm in holotype, THL = 1.67 mm, WL = 3.25 mm, WW = 1.43 mm, arb = 7/3, avd = 0.88, adf = 1.60, flw = 1.30, FW/HW = 0.37, ch/o = 0.04, prorb = 0.56, rcorb = 0.56, vb = 0.39, dcl = 0.51, presctl = 0.57, sctl = 1.14, sterno = damaged, orbito = 2.00, dcp = 0.24, sctlp = 1.29, C = 2.08, 4c = 1.51, 4v = 2.20, 5x = 1.05, ac = 2.52, M = 0.60, C3F = 0.98.

Type specimens. Holotype ♂ ( SCAU, No. 123163), CHINA: Weixi, Yunnan, 1900m, 29.vii.2004, ex tree trunk, HW Chen.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Etymology. A combination of the Latin words “ retina ” (= reticulated) + “ hirtus ” (= hair), referring to the aedeagus reticulated and with pubescence.
