Elachista madarella ( Clemens, 1860)

Cosmiotes madarella Clemens, 1860: 9 . Type locality: U.S.A., Pennsylvania, Easton. Type material not stated in original description; Busck (1903) indicated one specimen without specifying its gender. Braun (1948: 84) mentioned a holotype ♀, in ANSP.

Elachista madarella: Stainton (1872b: 98) .

Aphelosetia madarella: Forbes (1923: 223) .

Subgenus: Atachia ; gleichenella species group.

Distribution: Nearctic. Canada (Newfoundland), U.S.A. (Pennsylvania).

Larval host plant(s): Carex spp., Scirpus sp. ( Cyperaceae ) ( Braun 1921b).
