TYPE LOCALITY: Australia, New South Wales, north of Hunter river .
DISTRIBUTION: Cape York Peninsula (Queensland) to Victoria and SE South Australia, SW Western Australia.
STATUS: Common.
SYNONYMS: leucogaster, rubeculus, rufogaster.
