Holotype and eight paratypes are present in NFIC. Holotype with four labels- Label 1: White label stating collection locality '( INDIA: Kerala), Travancore , iii.1943; collected by KSP Aiyar'. Label 2: White label with 'RRD 268'. Label 3: White label—' Chlamys travancorensis Bhasin , Type (hand written)'. Label 4: Red label printed 'Type'.

Paratypes: Two on piths and six on cards—Green label stating ' Paratype'. White label—stating collection locality '( INDIA: Kerala), Travancore ; 25.iii.1943; collected by KSP Aiyar'.

Comments: In the original description it is stated that species has been described on the basis of 11 specimens collected by KSP Aiyar from Trivandrum (Thiruvananthapuram) and Cape Comorin; and 2 specimens collected by the Research Ranger from N. Salim District. Holotype and 8 paratypes are in NFIC.
