Synonym. Megalocoleus hirsutus Drapolyuk, 1991 (synonymy by Matocq 2004a). Distribution in Iran. Golestan ( Drapolyuk 1991, paratype of M. hirsutus from Astrabad, now Gorgan), Khuzestan (Linnavuori 2010), Iran (no locality cited) ( Kerzhner & Josifov 1999 under the synonym M. hirsutus ; Aukema et al. 2013).
General distribution and hosts. Azerbaijan, France, Iran, Italy, Spain, Russia (Dagestan); collected on Helianthemum guttatum (Linnavuori 2010) .
