Ardabil ( Linnavuori 2007; Havaskary et al. 2012; Hosseini 2013c), East Azarbaijan ( Modarres Awal 1997a; Khalilzadeh 2008; Linnavuori 2009; Sadeghi et al. 2009; Khaghaninia et al. 2010a, c, 2011), Fars ( Kiritshenko1966; Yarmand et al. 2004 under the spelling “ S. taeranieam Reter [sic], 1904”; Linnavuori 2009), Golestan (Heiss & Linnavuori 2002 ), Guilan ( Linnavuori 2007; Hosseini 2013c), Ilam (Linnavuori 2009), Isfahan (Linnavuori 2009), Kerman ( Wagner 1968a; Modarres Awal 1997c; Memand et al. 2012), Kermanshah (Linnavuori 2009), Khorasan ( Wagner 1957; Modarres Awal 1997b; Linnavuori & Modarres Awal 1999; Havaskary et al. 2010), Kordestan ( Ebrahimi et al. 2012), Kuhgiloyeh & Boyerahmad (Linnavuori 2009), Markazi ( Modarres Awal 1997c; Arkani et al. 2011), Semnan ( Kiritshenko 1949), Sistan & Baluchestan ( Modarres Awal 1997c), Tehran (Hoberlandt 1954; Linnavuori 2007), West Azarbaijan (Linnavuori 2009), Zanjan ( Linnavuori 2007; Askari et al. 2009), Iran (no locality cited) ( Kerzhner & Josifov 1999). Modarres Awal 1997c probably refers to this species from East Azarbaijan under “ Stenodema luonicum ”—a name that is probably a misspelling—following Baroughi (1977).

General distribution and hosts. Irano-Turanian species, collected on numerous plants, including Medicago sativa ( Modarres Awal 1997a; Khalilzadeh 2008; Khaghaninia et al. 2010c, 2011), Mentha sp. ( Khaghaninia et al. 2010c, 2011), Populus sp. ( Yarmand et al. 2004), sugar-beet ( Askari et al. 2009), Tamarix sp. ( Modarres Awal 1997c)—probably two sitting records –, Trifolium sp. ( Ebrahimi et al. 2012) and Triticum sp. ( Modarres Awal 1997b; Ebrahimi et al. 2012).
