Genus Hypsitylus Fieber, 1861 View in CoL
Hypsitylus prasinus Fieber, 1861
Listed from Khorasan by Reuter (1904). The presence in Iran is doubtful. The collections of ZMAS preserve a large part of the material collected by Zarudny including a single female sampled by him from Hauz-Musafyr and labeled “ Hypsitylus prasinus Fieb ”. According to F. Konstantinov (in litt.) “the specimen is clearly not Hypsitylus and might represent some Melanotrichus spp.”
General distribution. Algeria, France, Italy, Morocco, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and Tunisia.
