Agenamyia fumipennis Albuquerque, 1953: 519 View in CoL .

Diagnosis. This species can be easily distinguished from other species of the genus by the following characteristics: syntergite 1+2 translucid and hind femur with two strong apical av setae.

Redescription. Male. Dark brown fronto-orbital plate with 3 setulae ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ). Parafacial with silver pruinosity ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ). Brown palpus with lighter base ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ). Dark brown antennae with lighter pedicel ( Fig. 6B View FIGURE 6 ). Dark brown arista.

Thorax. Dark brown mesonotum with two slightly distinct median grey stripes. Dorsocentrals 1+3, first postsutural smaller than the others ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ). One postsutural intra-alar seta. Katepisternals 1+1+1, not forming an equilateral triangle, anterior seta smaller than the remaining setae ( Fig. 6A View FIGURE 6 ).

Wings. Smoky, but lighter at the base ( Figs. 6A, 6C View FIGURE 6 ). Dark brown veins. Whitish and hyaline calypteres ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ). The lower calypter is twice as long as the upper calypter.

Legs. Yellowish. Femora with brownish tip. Fore tibia with a row of apical pv setae. Hind tibia with 2 apical av setae.

Abdomen. Dark brown, syntergites 1+2 translucid ( Fig. 6C View FIGURE 6 ). Sternite 5 with several apical setae ( Fig. 7E View FIGURE 7 ; Albuquerque, 1953: fig. 12).

Terminalia.Cercus divided into two parts, longer than wide, with several setulae at the base ( Fig.7D View FIGURE 7 ; Albuquerque, 1953: fig. 8). Surstylus shorter than cercus in length ( Fig. 7D View FIGURE 7 ; Albuquerque, 1953: fig. 8). The phallapodeme is larger at the tip ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ; Albuquerque, 1953: fig. 11). Rectangular distiphallus with membranous apex ( Fig. 7C View FIGURE 7 ; Albuquerque, 1953: fig. 11).

Female. Unknown.
