75. Theognete desautelsi Anderson , new species ( Figures 250 View FIGURES 247–253 , 267 View FIGURES 266–268 , 284 View FIGURES 271–287 )
Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 2.56–3.09mm; female, 2.78–3.43mm. Width, male, 1.52–1.85mm; female, 1.57–1.88mm. Prosternum swollen transversely in front of coxae, swelling not to very slightly produced posteriad between coxae, deeply impressed and pit-like posteriorly under swelling. Pronotum in male transverse and inflated, not distinctly punctate, shining, with scales sparse, broad, appressed, uniformly distributed on disk. Elytra with scales linearly arranged, sparse, suberect, recurved, otherwise similar to those of pronotum. Elytral stiae not impressed or punctate; posterolateral area with 2 large pilose punctures; basal margin in humeral area with tooth. Aedeagus as in Fig. 267 View FIGURES 266–268 .
Geographical distribution. México (Oaxaca).
Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest leaf litter at elevations of from 1125– 1325m.
Derivation of specific name. Through his support of the Nature Discovery Fund at the Canadian Museum of Nature, this species is named after Dr. Pierre Desautels of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, as a gift from Mario Lalanne.
