Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 2.84–3.15mm. Width, male, 1.46–1.63mm. Eyes small (smallest in genus). Funicle with 6 articles. Pronotum impunctate, scales of pronotum and elytra fine, simple, suberect to erect, recurved, not plumose. Posterolateral area of elytra impunctate. Metasternum with pair of subcontiguous median punctures. Aedeagus as in Fig. 304 View FIGURES 304–306 . Females unknown.
Geographical distribution. México (Veracruz).
Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest leaf litter at elevations from 1125– 1275m.
Derivation of specific name. Noun in apposition: through his support of the Nature Discovery Fund at the Canadian Museum of Nature, named after Reine Préville Laurent of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, as a gift from Mario Lalanne.
Material examined. 8♂ ( CMNC, ECOS, MCZC). Holotype ♂ ( CMNC): MÉXICO: Veracruz. 4.3 mi. E. Huatusco, 3400', 21.VI.83, R. Anderson, cloud forest / HOLOTYPE ♂, Theognete reprela sp. nov., R.S. Anderson. Aedeagus extracted. Paratypes: MÉXICO. Veracruz. Huatusco (4.3 mi. E.), 3400', 21.VI.1983, R. Anderson, cloud forest (2♂ CMNC). Huatusco (4.4 mi. N.), 4200', 29.VII.–3.VIII.1973, A. Newton, cloud forest leaf and log litter (4♂ ECOS, MCZC). Coscomatepec (3.1 mi. N.E.), 3700', 21.VI.1983, R. Anderson, cloud forest (1♂ CMNC) .
Chorological relationships. Sympatric with T. azteca , T. kaulbarsi and T. lakarms .
