Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 3.06–3.65mm; female, 2.84–3.91mm. Width, male, 1.69–1.97mm; female, 1.57–2.14mm. Pronotum strongly cordate, punctures large and deep, some specimens with irregular, weak, median ridge; scales simple, short, appressed to suberect. Procoxae moderately separated. Prosternum with subapical constriction with very large, deep punctures. Elytra with scales short, simple, suberect and recurved,
not plumose; posterolateral region with series of three large punctures. Ventrite 5 with punctures moderately large, towards apex in middle confluent and appearing as transverse impression. Metasternum with lateral punctures behind metacoxae very small and shallow. Aedeagus as in Fig. 298 View FIGURES 298–300 .
Geographical distribution. México (Hidalgo).
Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest leaf litter at elevations from 1475– 1825m.
Derivation of specific name. Noun in apposition: named from the Greek hesmos , meaning swarm or flock, in reference to the great abundance of this species in samples from near Tlanchinol.
