Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 2.61–3.20mm; female, 2.73–3.18mm. Width, male, 1.46–1.88mm; female, 1.52–1.83mm. Pronotum cordate, punctures sparse, small and shallow; scales appressed, moderately broad. Elytra with scales erect, simple, clavate, recurved at extreme apex. Meso- and metasternum each with pair of shallow median punctures. Prosternum with subapical constriction with punctures small and shallow. Aedeagus as in Fig. 301 View FIGURES 301–303 .
Geographical distribution. México (Veracruz).
Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest leaf litter at elevations from 1025– 1300m.
Derivation of specific name. Noun in apposition: through their support of the Nature Discovery Fund at the Canadian Museum of Nature, named after Lara K. Armstrong of Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, as a gift from her grandparents Kenneth and Audrey Armstrong.
Material examined. 8♂, 8♀♀ ( CMNC, ECOS, MCZC). Holotype ♂ ( CMNC): MÉXICO: Veracruz. 3.1 mi. N.E. Coscomatepec, 3700', 21.VI.83, R. Anderson, cloud forest / HOLOTYPE ♂, Theognete lakarms sp. nov., R.S. Anderson. Aedeagus extracted. Paratypes: MÉXICO. Veracruz. Coscomatepec (3.1 mi. N.E.), 3700', 21.VI.1983, R. Anderson, cloud forest (4♂, 5♀♀ CMNC, ECOS). Huatusco (4.4 mi. N.), 4200', 29.VII–3.VIII.1973. A. Newton, cloud forest leaf and log litter (1♂, 2♀♀ MCZC). Huatusco (4.3 mi. E.), 3400', 21.VI.1983, R. Chorological relationships. Sympatric with T. azteca , T. kaulbarsi and T. reprela .
