Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 4.78–5.06mm; female, 4.33–4.84mm. Width, male, 2.53–2.92mm; female, 2.05–2.36mm. Pronotum with disk weakly cordate, scales appressed to very slightly arched and scattered; surface with isodiametric microsculpture. Elytra with disk flattened in middle, striae 1, 2 and 3 each deeply linearly impressed for a short length in this flat area; scales sparse, appressed to very slightly arched and scattered. Abdomen in male with ventrite 1 deeply longitudinally impressed, sides of impression near apical margin inwardly tuberculate. Ventrite 5 with pair of large subbasal punctures, pair of smaller median, more laterally placed punctures and apical margin deeply irregularly excavate. Legs in male with middle and hind tibiae with 3–5 distinct sharp teeth along inner margin. Aedeagus as in Fig. 67 View FIGURES 64–67 .
Geographical distribution. México (Puebla).
Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of cloud forest leaf litter at elevations ranging from 1350–1600m.
Derivation of specific name. Named from the Latin denticulatus, meaning with small teeth, in reference to the distinct teeth on the inner margin of the hind tibiae of males.
Material examined. 3♂, 2♀♀ ( CMNC) . Holotype ♂ ( CMNC) : MÉXICO: Puebla. 4.4 mi. N. Teziutlán, 4500', 19.vi.83, S. & J. Peck, cloud for. litter / HOLOTYPE ♂, Theognete denticulata sp. nov., R.S. Anderson. Aedeagus extracted. Paratypes: MÉXICO: Puebla: Apulco (2.7 km S. near Zacapoaxtla ), 1401m, 22.VII.1987, R. Anderson, cloud forest, 87-36 (1♀ CMNC) . La Cumbre (7.6 km S. W.) , 1585m, 23.VII.1987, R. Anderson, oak-pine forest, 87-39 (1♂, 1♀ CMNC) . Teziutlán (4.4 mi. N.), 4500', 19.VI.1983, S. & J. Peck, cloud forest litter (1♂ CMNC) .
Chorological relationships. Sympatric with T. araneiformis and T. newtoni .
