29. Theognete jeanae Anderson , new species ( Figures 89 View FIGURES 89–94 , 99 View FIGURES 99–101 , 108 View FIGURES 108–116 )
Diagnosis. Size. Length, male, 3.88–4.66mm; female, 4.24–4.55mm. Width, male, 2.08–2.75mm; female, 2.47mm. As for T. carinata except elytra more robust, wider and with vestiture slightly longer and more erect. Aedeagus as in Fig. 99 View FIGURES 99–101 .
Geographical distribution. El Salvador (Chalatenango), Honduras (Lempira).
Natural history. Collected from berlese extraction of hardwood forest leaf litter at an elevation of 2100m and from cloud forest leaf litter at an elevation of 2650m.
Derivation of specific name. Through her support of the Nature Discovery Fund at the Canadian Museum of Nature, this species is named after Jacinte Rose Jean of San Diego, California.
Material examined. 10♂, 2♀♀ ( CMNC, EAPZ). Holotype ♂ ( CMNC): EL SALVADOR: Santa Ana. Cerro Montecristo , 21.7 km N.E. Metapan, 2100m, 29.VIII.1994 -228 A, R. Anderson, hardwood forest litter berlese / HOLOTYPE ♂, Theognete jeanae sp. nov. R.S. Anderson. Aedeagus extracted. Paratypes: EL SAL- VADOR. Chalatenango. San Ignacio (13.1 km.N.), El Pital , 2650m, 28.VIII.1994 -226, R. Anderson, cloud forest litter berlese (4♂ CMNC) . HONDURAS. Lempira. P.N. Celaque, nr. Gracias, Campamento Naranjo, 2500m, N14°32.7" W 88 °39.7", 12–13.V.2002, R. Anderson, cloud forest litter, 2002-020 (5♂, 2♀♀ CMNC, EAPZ) .
Chorological relationships. Sympatric with Theognete lalannei .
