Description. Male. Damaged specimens.
Male genitalia. In dorsal view, epiphallus H-shaped, lateral lobe ends obtuse. In ventral view, ectoparamere divided into two parts, the smaller part is rod-shaped, with fine spines at the end; the larger part spoon-shaped, narrow at the base and broad at the end. In lateral view, lateral lobe end with angular process.
Female. Body sized small for Gryllinae . Head pubescent, slightly narrower than pronotum. Occiput protruding, vertex inclined significantly. Frontal rostrum nearly as broad as antennal scape. Antennal scape semi-circular. Frons transversely broad. Median ocellus crescent-shaped, distinctly smaller than lateral ones; lateral ocelli rounded. Postclypeus narrowly banded, angular on both sides; anteclypeus round shield-shaped. Labrum scutellate. The end section of the maxillary palpus axe-like, distinctly longer than the third segment. Pronotum approximately rectangular in dorsal view, anterior margin concave and posterior margin straight, and with long setae on anterior margin and lateral lobes. With minuscule wing buds. Abdominal tergum densely pilose. Tympanum absent. Legs bearing short and long setae. Dorsal spurs of hind tibia numbered 4:4 (inner: outer). Both outer and inner apical spurs numbered three, and the longest in the middle on both sides. Ovipositor apically sharp.
Coloration. Body blackish red. Maxillary palpi yellowish brown. Legs reddish brown. Female abdominal tergum with yellow-brown pubescence. Ovipositor yellowish-brown.
Measurements. Female (n=2). BL 7.26–7.83, HL 1.40–1.41, HW 2.27–2.31, PL 1.76–1.77, PW 2.32–2.42, HFL 5.2–6.08, OL 4.52.
Remarks. C. dolabripalpis is the type species of the genus Capillogryllus . Compared with C. exilipalpis , this species is smaller in size, median ocellus crescent-shaped, and the end section of the maxillary palpi axe-like, and distinctly longer than the third segment. Compared with C. spinae sp. nov., this species is blackish-red and has wing buds in females. The end of epiphallus of the male genitalia of C. spinae sp. nov. nearly rectangular, ectoparamere finger-like, while the end of epiphallus of C. dolabripalpis arch bridge shaped and ectoparamere spoon-shaped.
