Number of specimens recorded. 36.
Distribution. Europe; also North Africa. Portugal: four northern provinces and Estremadura in this study, and Algarve (also Dyte unpubl. data).
Ecology. Recorded from four macrohabitat categories in Portugal, most frequently from riverbanks and, to a lesser extent, forests. Fair numbers of this species were collected in a brackish marsh at about sea level, and along a montane river over 1,100 m. Its ecology in northwestern Europe is poorly documented (e.g., Speight 1986) and the species is generally considered as Mediterranean.
