Current status: a junior subjective synonym of Panstrongylus geniculatus ( Latreille, 1811: 151) ; synonymized by Pinto (1931: 108).

Remarks. Lent & Wygodzinsky (1979: 373) indicated that the depository of the types of C. lutulentus was unknown, but we found them in the Museum für Naturkunde.
