Symplectoscyphus subdichotomus ( Kirchenpauer, 1884)

Material examined: BBB 2016: St. 4; St. 5; St. 9; St. 12; St. 13; St. 16; St. 18; St. 23; St. 27; St. 28; St. 31; St. 32; St. 33; St. 34; St. 35; St. 36; St. 38; St. 39 ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ) (MACN-In: 43479, 43480, 43481).

Distribution: The species presents a broad geographic distribution in southwestern Atlantic, between 29º– 56°S, reported as Sertularella johnstoni ; Sertularella subdichotoma ; Sertularella johnstoni ( Oliveira et al. 2016 and references therein).

Remarks: Species were frequently found in all analyzed sites, usually conforming dense and mature clumps. Colonies were found attached on bryozoans, Chaetopterus antarcticus tubes, and the hydroids Halecium jaederholmi , Synthecium protectum and Hincksella stolonifera .
