Ectopleura crocea (L. Agassiz, 1862)

Material examined: BBB 2016: St. 39.

Distribution: Circumglobal in shallow subtropical waters ( Bouillon et al. 2004) and subtropical and temperate waters in southwestern Atlantic Ocean ( Oliveira et al. 2016). Species widely reported in shallow waters of Argentinean coast as Tubularia crocea ( Blanco 1994; Genzano & Zamponi 1997).

Remarks: Big and fertile clumps detached from substrates were found. The status of this species and synonymies with other Tubularids from southwestern Atlantic Ocean were discussed by Imazu et al. (2014).
