Lafoea dumosa (Fleming, 1820)

Material examined: BBB 2016: St. 5; St. 12; St. 23; St. 28; St. 31; St. 32; St. 33; St. 34; St. 39. GARCIA 2015: St. 2; St. 3; St. 6 ( Fig. 2J ) (MACN-In: 43483, 43484).

Distribution: Cosmopolitan. Species widely distributed along southwestern Atlantic Ocean (see Blanco 1994; Oliveira et al. 2016).

Remarks: Abundant, unfertile colonies were widely found in all analyzed areas, usually as epizoics on the hydroid S. subdichotomus . Also recorded in the area as Lafoea fruticosa (see Oliveira et al. 2016).
