Amemboa (Amemboa) brevifasciata Miyamoto 1967 View in CoL : Nat. Life Southeast Asia 236.

Diagnosis. Males of A. brevifasciata have a triangular pygophore in ventral view ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 22 – 35 ). with a knob-like tip projecting dorsocaudad. Further, the male profemur has two distinct hair patches ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 8 – 21 ), whereas A. javanica has a single hair patch and A. aquafrigida and A. speciosa each have three hair patches. Males of A. brevifasciata have an unmodified proximal half of the profemur, whereas A. cristata and A. riparia each have a proximally incrassate profemur.

Discussion. Amemboa brevifasciata has been recorded from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam ( Polhemus & Andersen 1984; Zettel & Chen 1996, 1997; Zettel et al. 2007). In Thailand, this species has been collected previously from Loei, Nakhon Nayok, Phitsanulok, and Ubon Ratchathani provinces ( Miyamoto 1967, Polhemus & Andersen 1984, Hanboonsong et al. 1996, Zettel & Chen 1997, Vitheepradit 2000). In this study, this species was collected from the margins and pools of streams almost throughout the Phetchabun Mountain Range.
