Subgenus Thamnocephalus View in CoL (sensu stricto) Packard 1883
Diagnosis. Male with frontal appendage elongated, with numerous branches. Penes without parapenial lobes. Male first and second abdominal segments smooth ventrally, and may each bear a single pair of medioapical spines. Two species described from North America and one from tropical South America and the southern Caribbean islands.
