Type material. Holotype, female (slide number Q3, marked Holotype), from Ficus gibbosa Blume (Moraceae) , Liangyuan, Danzhou City, Hainan Province, P.R. China, 19°30’50 N, 109°29’59 E, elevation 120 m, 28 September 2008, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue, Zi-Wei Song and Zhen Wang. Paratypes, 4 females and 4 males (slide number Q3), with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf surface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology. The specific designation danzhouicus is from the name of location, Danzhou, where the type material of the species was collected.
Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to E. parasakthi Mohanasundaram, 1983 (from Ficus sp.), but can be differentiated from the latter by the prodorsal shield with many pits (prodorsal shield without pits in E. parasakthi ), anterior shield lobe with four spines (anterior shield lobe without spines in E. parasakthi ), coxal plates with granules (coxal plates smooth in E. parasakthi ), setae h1 present (setae h1 absent in E. parasakthi ), and dorsal annuli with microtubercles (dorsal annuli smooth in E. parasakthi ).
