Type species. Schismope brevis Hedley, 1904 (OD).
Diagnosis. Scissurellidae with slit closed to foramen at maturity, keels of foramen not elevated to form chimney.
Remarks. In juveniles, the selenizone may be shorter and the slit is still not closed to a foramen. Juvenile Sinezona and adult Scissurella both have an open slit; mature specimens can be recognized by the descending last quarter whorl.
