1. Anarsia tricornis Meyrick, 1913 View in CoL , comb. rev.
( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 21 , 22, 22 View FIGURES 22 – 40 a, 41, 41a–b, 60)
Anarsia tricornis Meyrick, 1913: 168 View in CoL ; Meyrick, 1925: 153; Clarke, 1969: 250; Park, 1995: 64; Park & Ponomarenko,1996: 41. Ananarsia tricornis Ponomarenko, 1997: 53, 2009: 343 . Type locality (TL): Sri Lanka, Maskeliya. The type in BMNH.
Diagnosis. Adult ( Figs. 1 View FIGURES 1 – 21 , 22 View FIGURES 22 – 40 ): Wingspan, 10.5–13.0 mm. The species is superficially similar to A. anisodonta Diakonoff, 1954 , which was described from Papua, Indonesia, with a large, unique, triangular costal patch on forewing, but can be distinguished by the male genitalia with shorter tegumen and the morphological characteristics of the valvae: right valva broad and shorter than that of A. anisodonta , with basal hook-shaped process strongly angled, shorter; left valva broadly expanded ventrally beyond middle, the patch of the modified scales broader than that of A. anisodonta . There is no hairpencil on the underside of the forewings.
Male genitalia ( Figs. 41, 41 View FIGURES 41 – 43 a a–b): Uncus large, broadened medially, exceeding apices of socius. Valvae asymmetrical: left valva with a strongly curved process arising from near base of ventral margin, reaching about half of valva; right valva similar to left one, but the basal 2/5 narrow, then ventral margin expanded, and ventral process absent. Phallus strongly curved, lanceolate, with a short, inwardly directed lobe near base.
Female genitalia ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 60 – 66 ): Apophyses anteriores very short, about 1/5 the length of apophyses posteriors. Abdominal segment VII with a pocket-like membranous flap medially. Ostium bursae deeply concave on caudal margin, cup-shaped. Ductus bursae narrow, as long as corpus bursae. Signum small, crescentic.
Material examined. CAMBODIA: 3 ♂, Seima, 12o14′11″ N 107o02′ 35″E, 9 xi 2011 (YS Bae, YK Kim, YD Ju, BS Park, & HJ Lee), gen. slide no. CIS-6404; 1 ♂, 1♀, same locality, 12o14′11″ N 107o02′ 35″E, 16 viii 2013 (YS Bae, YK Kim, YD Ju, BS Park, & HJ Lee), gen. slide no. CIS-6403; 1♀, Kirirom, 11o19′8″ N 104o02′ 6″E, 6 xi 2014 (YS Bae et al.). VIETNAM: 1♀, Cuc Phuong Nat. Park, 450 m, 24 iv 2006 (Park, Kim & Kang), gen. slide no. CIS-6412; 1 ♂, Tam Dao Nat. Park, 25 v 2007 (KT Park), gen. slide no. CIS-6413.
Distribution. Cambodia (new record; Seima), Vietnam (new record; Vinh Phuc Prov., Nhin Binh Prov.), Sri Lanka, Indonesia (Sulawesi), Indonesia.
Remarks. The species was described from Sri Lanka, based on a single male, and also known in Indonesia (Sumatra and N Sulawesi), and Taiwan ( Park, 1995). A minor difference was found in the shape of the hookshaped basal process near base of the ventral margin of the left valve, but considered as an individual or geographical variation.
