Notiphilus maximiliani Humbert & Saussure, 1870: 205 (female holotype from Campeche, Mexico, deposited in NHMW 184 View Materials ). Notiphilides maximiliani: Latzel, 1880: 20 View in CoL .
Diagnosis. Notiphilides maximiliani differs from other species of Notiphilides by the following combination of characteristics: body with 87̄105 leg-bearing segments in females and 85̄ 89 in males; tergites without sulcus ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 B, D), posterior paratergites divided ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D), intermediate tergite of the postpedal segment with homogenous color ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 D), and ultimate legs without tubercle in tarsus ( Attems 1929; Chamberlin 1950; Crabill 1960; Brölemann 1905).
Note. DR and VR presence cannot be analyzed in the examined pictures, and its description is little accurate in the consulted literature.
