Note. Ratcliffe (2003: 267) fully synonymizes the generic names Tomarus and Ligyrus and gives priority to the former. Morón and Grossi (2015: 10) consider Tomarus and Ligyrus as two different genera in a preliminary note and disagree with Ratcliffe’s use of the rule of priority. Neita-Moreno and Ratcliffe (2017a: 1) discuss the position of Morón and Grossi (2015), but consider their justification insufficient. In this checklist, we follow Ratcliffe (2003) and Neita-Moreno and Ratcliffe (2017a).
