ORIGINALLY INCLUDED SPECIES: Elachisoma atomus Rondani, 1880 ; Limosina nigerrimus Haliday, 1836 (as “ Limosina nigerrima Hal. ”).

TYPE SPECIES: Limosina nigerrimus Haliday, 1836 (as “ Limosina nigerrima Hal. ”) [= Borborus aterrimus Haliday, 1833 ], by original designation.

CURRENT STATUS: Valid genus [ teste Rohaček (2001: 143) ].

FAMILY: SPHAEROCERIDAE .

EMENDATIONS: Elachysoma Rye, 1881: 5 (unjustified), n. syn.
