TYPE LOCALITY: Madagascar, Nossi-Bé .

DISTRIBUTION: Madagascar and Comores Isis.

STATUS: Unresolved.

SYNONYMS: coquerelii.

COMMENTS: This species is often included in etruscus but treated as a full species in most reports on the fauna of Madagascar (e.g., Eisenberg and Gould, 1984).
