Material studied. JAPAN (GIFU Pref.): ♂, 8 km SE Ōsaka, Gifu Pref., 750 m, 1.VIII.1980, I. Löbl leg. (MHNG).

Remarks. Only the holotype male of this species has been known so far, and this specimen has a fully erected and somewhat distorted aedeagus (illustrated in Jałoszyński & Hoshina (2004)). The holotype comes from Okutama-machi env., probably from Mt. Mazukari (misspelled Badsukari on the label), Tōkyō Prefecture. During

several collecting trips to the region of Okutama, I was not able to find any additional specimens of this species. The male recorded here shares with the holotype of P. holzneri the protibiae, which have a very indistinct mesal expansion at middle, but lack the denticle which is characteristic of other Japanese Paraneseuthia (illustrated by Jałoszyński & Hoshina (2004), fig. 2G), similar measurements, and the aedeagus with the lateral subapical lobes of the basal capsule, broadly and deeply emarginate apex of median lobe, a pair of long and divergent endophallic sclerites, and parameres narrowing distad, each bearing only one short apical seta.
