Diagnosis. This species is distinguished from other Japanese species by the following features: body small and oval, 0.90–1.08 mm in length ( Fig. 1b View FIGURE 1 ); last antennomere truncate and notched apically ( Fig. 2e View FIGURE 2 ); elytral punctures distinct, arranged in longitudinal rows; hind wings degraded in both sexes ( Fig. 3c View FIGURE 3 ); aedeagus truncate anteriorly, strongly curved ventrally in lateral view ( Figs 4f View FIGURE 4 , 6d View FIGURE 6 ); anterior margin notched at middle; lateral sides gradually widened to apex ( Figs 4e View FIGURE 4 , 6c View FIGURE 6 ); endophallus elongate and cylindrical, and sclerotized part at near base inverted Ushaped ( Fig. 4e View FIGURE 4 ); spermatheca ( Fig. 5d View FIGURE 5 ): receptacle slender, gradually widened to base; pump short and cylindrical; spermathecal gland valve stout.

Description. BL: 0.90–1.08 mm (0.99±0.05, n = 19), BW: 0.64–0.72 mm (0.68±0.03, n = 19), PL: 0.18–0.26 mm (0.22±0.02, n = 18), PW: 0.54–0.66 mm (0.58±0.03, n = 19), EL: 0.64–0.80 mm (0.72±0.05, n = 19), EW: 0.36–0.40 mm (0.38±0.02, n = 19), HTL: 0.22–0.28 mm (0.26±0.02, n = 12).

Body oval and convex.

Coloration. Body pale brown ( Fig. 1b View FIGURE 1 ). Antennae and legs yellowish brown.

Head. Head rectangular, very shallowly and sparsely punctate ( Fig. 2b View FIGURE 2 ); vertex smooth; frontal tubercles indistinct; frontal carina absent. Antennae: clava curved interiorly, straight exteriorly, apical margin of last antennomere truncate, notched apically ( Fig. 2e View FIGURE 2 ).

Thorax. Pronotum lunate, somewhat convex, very shallowly and sparsely punctate. Scutellum subtriangular. Elytra somewhat convex, distinctly punctate, punctures arranged in longitudinal rows. Hind wings degraded in both sexes ( Fig. 3c View FIGURE 3 ). Metafemora oval, sparsely haired.

Abdomen. Middle part of the second abdominal sternite with a sharply raised carina and seven coarse and strong punctures ( Fig. 2h View FIGURE 2 ). Pygidium of male subtriangular with a pair of ridges in middle.

M a l e. Aedeagus rather widened towards apex, strongly curved ventrally in lateral view ( Figs 4f View FIGURE 4 , 6d View FIGURE 6 ); apical margin truncate, notched at middle ( Figs 4e View FIGURE 4 , 6c View FIGURE 6 ); lateral sides gradually widened to apex. Endophallus elongate and cylindrical, branched at base, with inverted U-shaped plate at near base ( Figs 4e View FIGURE 4 , 6c View FIGURE 6 ). Spicule separated ( Fig. 4g View FIGURE 4 ). Tegmen Y-shaped ( Fig. 4h View FIGURE 4 ).

F e m a l e. Spermatheca ( Fig. 5d View FIGURE 5 ): receptacle slender, gradually widened to base; pump short and cylindrical; spermathecal gland valve stout. Vaginal palpi deeply V-shaped, slender with two to three pores on middle and three setae on apex ( Fig. 5e View FIGURE 5 ). Tignum ( Fig. 5f View FIGURE 5 ): sclerotized part spine-shaped, long and slender.

Nagodake / 22-XII-2019 / Norihide Tokushige leg.” (typed on white card), “ èfiẹaüm / aüDz / 22 xii 2019 / dzfflǿdz ” (typed on white card), “Haruki Suenaga Collection / HS-22-38” (typed on white card), “Holotype / Clavicornaltica tokushigei / Suenaga, 2023 / Appended label by H. Distribution. Japan (Ryukyu Is.: Okinawa-jima I.) ( Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 ).

Notes. Almost all specimens of this new species were collected from leaf litter by sifting.

Etymology. The specific epithet of “ tokushigei ” is dedicated to Dr. Norihide Tokushige, Professor of Faculty of Education of Ryukyu University who collected this new species for the first time.
