Type locality: Indes orientales. Accra et Bathurst (Afr. oc.) [ Ghana, Accra . Gambia, Banjul]
Distribution. Indian records: Punjab ( Hampson 1896b), North India ( Rose & Dhillon 1980c), Oriental: India ( Poltavsky et al. 2018). Global records: West and East Africa, Ceylon ( Hampson 1896b), widespread throughout the Old World tropics, in SE Asia from Thailand, Sumatra, Philippines ( Robinson et al. 1994), Nepal ( Yamanaka 1998), Palaeotropical, in Africa: Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Namibia, Saint Helena, South Africa (De Prins & De Prins 2011–2021), Mali ( Poltavsky et al. 2018).
