Fig. 7 View FIGURE 7
Material examined: Iran, Esfahan province, Esfahan, tomato greenhouse, soil, 10 specimens, leg.: Yaser Chalangar.
Ecology and distribution. Widely distributed in Iran: Markazi, Mazandaran, Guilan, Golestan, Khuzestan ( Cox 1982; Hosseini et al. 2016; Ramezani & Mossadegh 2017). The species is usually found in damp habitats.
Remarks. The species has been reported from northern parts of Iran by some researchers ( Cox 1982, Hosseini et al. 2016). It seems that this species is mixed up with I. hyrcanicus sp. nov. in records of the old authors because of identical color pattern. During our investigation of Isotomidae in southern parts of Caspian Sea (North of Iran), we could not find I. palustris . The specimens of this species were only recorded from a greenhouse in Esfahan province (central Iran). This European species is probably introduced by human via soil transportation.
