As also reported for north Queensland and New Caledonian material, the female specimens of the present series bear two instead of three branchiocardiac spines. The male bears two branchiocardiac spines on one side and three on the other, and four instead of two spines on the posteromedian margin of the carapace.
Distribution. The Philippines, Indonesia, Queensland, and New Caledonia, Lifou, Wallis and Futuna Islands at 564–1000 m ( Macpherson 1999). The present records extend the geographic and bathymetric ranges to New South Wales and 1051 m respectively.
