Calholaspis taiwanicus Tseng, 1993: 42 .
Caholaspis (sic) taiwanicus Tseng, 1993: 46 .
Type locality and habitat: China, Taiwan, Lioukuei ( Kaossiung , Yilan, Taichung and Kaohsiung), soil .
Type depository: BCIQ .
Note: The species described as Calholaspis taiwanicus Tseng, 1993 , is a typical member of the genus Parholaspulus , except that the metasternal plates are described as fused to the sternal shield. The illustration (Figure 64 in
Tseng, 1993) shows the metasternal plates as clearly delimited and located at the posterolateral corners of the sternal shield. It is possible that they are not actually fused to the sternal shield, but lying on top of it as an accident of slide mounting. This species differs from our concept of Calholaspis by having multiple small pre-sternal platelets, so we place it in Parholaspulus until the exact condition of the metasternal plates can be conformed.
