Stenothemus yanmenensis sp. nov.

Figs. 23 View FIGURES 19 – 27. 19 – 27 , 102–104 View FIGURES 91 – 104. 91 – 92 .

Type locality. China, Yunnan province, Yanmen.

Type material. Holotype ( NMPC), male, “CHINA-YUNNAN, Yanmen, 13.6.– 23.6.2005, lgt. E. Kučera [white label, printed]”.

Description. Coloration ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 19 – 27. 19 – 27 ). Body entirely chestnut brown, only antennal joints narrowly honey yellow, so that antennae are distinctly annulated.

Male. Eyes large and strongly protruding, head across eyes slightly wider than pronotum, lateral sides of head behind eyes moderately concave, converging posteriorly. Antennae just extending beyond three quarters of elytral length, filiform, antennomeres without visible impressions. Surface of head very finely imbricate-punctate, with sparse, fine, yellow semierect pubescence, matt. Pronotum ca as long as wide, slightly cordiform, anterior margin more or less concave, anterior corners rounded, lateral margins rather strongly sinuate, posterior corners almost sharp, protruding laterad, posterior margin convex. Surface of pronotum like that of head sculptured and pubescent, matt. Elytra very slightly dilated posteriorly, elytral venation only very slightly indicated. Surface of elytra very finely punctate basally, rest of elytra finely rugulose-lacunose, with sparse, fine, yellow semierect pubescence, matt, semilustrous basally. Aedeagus as in Figs. 102–104 View FIGURES 91 – 104. 91 – 92 .

Female unknown.

Length (male). 10.1 mm.

Differential diagnosis. S. yanmenensis sp. nov. is very similar to S. kubani sp. nov., from which it differs by darker coloration, distinctly annulated antennae (cf. Figs. 22–23 View FIGURES 19 – 27. 19 – 27 ) and, especially, by parameres not dilated apically and ventral surface of divided portions of dorsal part of the aedeagus with long erect hairs, situated not only on the margins (cf. Figs. 100, 102 View FIGURES 91 – 104. 91 – 92 ).

Etymology. Name from the type locality.

Distribution. China: Yunnan province.
