Bigeye Lanternfish, Northern Flashlightfish, or Northern Lanternfish. To 11.2 cm (4.4 in) TL (DFO). Northern Japan (Fujii in Masuda et al. 1984), to southern Bering Sea (Mecklenburg et al. 2002), to central California (34°29’N, 122°28’W) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Depth: surface to 1,370 m (4,495 ft) (min.: Wisner 1976; max.: Sheiko and Fedorov 2000).
