Rough Triggerfish. To 50 cm (19.7 in) ( Robertson and Allen 2015). Circumglobal; western Pacific Ocean north to Yonaguni-jima Island, Japan ( Koeda et al. 2016); near tip of Baja California ( Robertson and Allen 2015), and in mouth of Gulf of California (to about 30 miles north of Cabo San Lucas) (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.) to Ecuador and offshore islands ( Robertson and Allen 2015).
