Circumglobal; western Pacific Ocean north to Korea ( Kim et al. 1997), and southern Japan (Senou in Nakabo 2002); Stony Point, Santa Catalina Island (M.L., unpubl. data), and Oceanside, southern California ( Eschmeyer and Herald 1983), to Cabo Blanco, Peru ( Chirichigno and Vélez 1998) , including Gulf of California (Smith-Vaniz in Fischer et al. 1995), and Islas Galápagos ( Eschmeyer and Herald 1983).
