DISTRIBUTION: S. Yukon ( Canada) to N. E. South Dakota, N. New Mexico, N. Arizona, C. Utah, C. Nevada, and E.C. California ( U.S.A.).
COMMENT: Formerly included luteus; see comment under hudsonius . GSJ considers trinotatus a subspecies of princeps .
