Current status: Menacanthus eurysternus ( Burmeister, 1838) ; Price 1975: 619, figs 1–9.

Type host: Molpastes leucogenys leucogenys (Gray) = Pycnonotus leucogenys (Gray) .

Type locality: Kullu [as Kulu], India .

Type material: Holotype male [slide NHML010658143 View Materials ] deposited in the NHML. This slide, labelled as “ TYPE ”, contains two males, one circled and assumed to be the holotype, but Ansari (1951: 143) only listed the holotype. Therefore, the other male has no type status.
