Current status: Myrsidea elegans Ansari, 1956f .

Type host: Turdus rufiventris rufiventris Vieillot.

Type locality: Samaipata [as Sonupatu], Bolivia .

Type material: Holotype male and one paratype male [slide 69009] and two paratype males [slides 16243 and 16456] all deposited in the USNM, from the Carriker collection. Ansari (1956f: 177) clearly designated a holotype, but Clay (1966: 377) incorrectly designated and labelled one male on slide 16243 as a “ lectotype ”, which is invalid.
