Holotype. F, PERU: CU, La Convención, Echarate, CC. Santa Rosa, 12o33’51.93”S / 73o05’36”W, 1434 m, 18- 21.ix.2010 [Malaise trap], M. Alvarado y J. Peralta ( MUSM).

Diagnosis. Triclistus megantoni resembles T. inti sp. n. in a complete posterior transverse carina and lack of a lateromedian longitudinal carina, and being predominantly black, but differs in having a larger areolet and a predominantly black metafemur and metatibia.

Description. F: Fore wing length 5.9 mm. Antenna with 34 flagellomeres, second flagellomere ca. 3.1x as long as centrally broad, subapical flagellomeres elongate, ca. 1.3x as long as centrally broad, clearly longer than broad; face 1.6x as long as wide, slightly protuberant on the clypeus area, granulose with sparse punctures; mandibles not twisted, tapered, with upper tooth broader and longer than lower tooth; labrum not exposed when mandibles closed; clypeal margin straight; malar space ca. 0.9x as long as basal mandibular width; lateral ocellus separated from compound eye by ca. 1.1x ocellar diameter; head in dorsal view with gena evenly narrowed behind compound eyes; gena, on lateral view ca. 1.1x as long as compound eye; frons smooth, with setae posteriorly; crest between antennal toruli sharp; gena and vertex smooth and punctate. Mesosoma generally smooth, polished and coarsely punctate; pronotum polished with a band of hair along upper and posterior margins, mesopleurum punctate except speculum; mesoscutum convex; notauli extending to center, weak; scuto-scutellar groove deep and smooth; scutellum convex, with lateral carinae reaching to 0.3x its length; metapleuron polished with isolated setae, elsewhere bare; submetapleural carina scrobiculate, anteriorly expanded into a conspicuous triangular lobe; pleural carina curved in anterior half then declivitous. Propodeum quite short and evenly declivitous; without lateromedian longitudinal carinae thus with all areas confluent, smooth but punctate on lateral margins; posterior transverse carina present; area spiracularis + area lateralis confluent, coarsely punctate; spiracle almost round.

Fore wing with 3rs-m present, abscissa of 2rs-m between Rs+2r and 3rs-m 0.3x abscissa of 2rs-m between 3rsm and 1m-cu, areolet wide. Metasoma with tergite ca. I 1.4x as long as posteriorly broad, lateral longitudinal carinae reaching to spiracle, lateromedian carinae absent, smooth with two rows of setae in the area where median longitudinal carinae would be and isolated punctures posteriorly; tergite II smooth with setae on lateral margin, as long as posteriorly broad; tergites III–V similarly sculptured, tergites VI–VII similarly sculptured but with a row of setae on posterior margin.

Head extensively black except palpi yellowish cream and scape and pedicel brownish. Mesosoma black; fore and mid legs yellowish except mid tarsomere 5 brownish; hind leg with coxa yellowish except a brownish spot dorsally, remaining brownish brown except femur apically and tibia basally. Wings hyaline; pterostigma brown. Metasoma black.

Male. Unknown
