2. Mycotretus lesueuri + M. sobrinus

( Fig. 1M, R View Figure 1 ; character 14:1 and Fig. 5H View Figure 5 ) ‘inner contour of lateral borders of flagellum head almost contiguous’. This feature was observed in other Mycotretus , for instance, M. tigrinus (Olivier, 1792) , M. prioteloides Mader, 1942 ( Pecci-Maddalena & Lopes-Andrade, 2018a), M. sallei Crotch, 1876 , M. spadiceus Gorham, 1888 and M. bipunctatus Gorham, 1888 (not included in this study). Except for M. bipunctatus , which has a somewhat widened body, the remaining species have an elongate body and are slightly oval. Mycotretus lesueuri is the type species of Mycotretus , so its morphology and that of its direct relatives may be regarded as typical for Mycotretus , in the event of future taxonomic changes.
