Key to the species of the genus Pristomerus Curtis, 1836 in Iran

- Body mostly black ( Figs. 4A, 4B, 4D), at most metasomal tergites with a narrow yellow band on posterior margins........ 5

2. Fore wing with Cu & cu-a intercepted at least at 0.85 of its length, or not broken at all.............................................................................................. Pristomerus mesopotamicus Horstmann, 1990

- Fore wing with Cu & cu-a intercepted at 0.65–0.8 of its length ( Figs 1G, 3C)...................................... 3

3. Fore wing with vein 1/M between Rs and 2m-cu about as long as Rs ( Fig. 3C). Second metasomal tergite smooth................................................................................. Pristomerus luridus Kokujev, 1905

- Fore wing with vein 1/M between Rs and 2m-cu distinctly longer or shorter than Rs ( Fig. 1G). Second metasomal tergite longitudinally striate ( Fig. 1I)............................................................................... 4

4. Mesoscutum very densely punctured ( Fig. 1E). Propodeal areola 1.7× as long as wide ( Fig. 1F). Fore wing with 1/M between Rs and 2m-cu distinctly longer than (about 1.4×) Rs ( Fig. 1G). Hind femur (female) narrow (its length about 4.0× its width), with a small and straight tooth-like process on ventral margin ( Fig. 1H)............................................................................................... Pristomerus mirzakhaniae Zardouei & Rakhshani sp. nov.

- Mesoscutum very sparsely punctured. Propodeal areola 2.8× as long as wide. Fore wing with 1/M between Rs and 2m-cu distinctly shorter than (about 0.6×) Rs. Hind femur (male) thick (its length about 3.0× its width), with a weak and straight toothlike process on ventral margin, followed by a row of rather strong denticles........ Pristomerus persicus Riedel et al. 2019

5. Occipital carina dorso-medially interrupted and slightly down-curved ( Fig. 2B). Eyes slightly convergent in lower part ( Fig. 2E). Hind femur uniformly yellowish and stout (its length about 3.4× its width) ( Fig. 3D). Second lateral area of propodeum wide, its length less than 1.4× width) ( Fig. 2H)................................ Pristomerus horribilis Narolsky, 1987

- Occipital carina dorso-medially not interrupted ( Figs. 2A, 2C). Eyes slightly divergent in lower part ( Figs. 2D, 2F). Hind femur basally and apically yellowish and slender (its length about 3.7× its width) ( Figs. 3B, 3F). Second lateral area of propodeum narrow, its length more than 1.8× width) ( Figs. 2G, 2I)........................................................ 6

6. Propodeal areola 2.0× as long as wide ( Fig. 2G). Fore wing with vein 1/M about 1.4× as long as Rs ( Fig. 3A). Female hind femur with a strong and straight tooth-like process on ventral margin ( Fig. 3B)........ Pristomerus armatus ( Lucas, 1849)

- Propodeal areola 1.3× as long as wide ( Fig. 2I). Fore wing with vein 1/M about 1.8× as long as Rs ( Fig. 3E). Female hind femur with a strong and curved tooth-like process on ventral margin ( Fig. 3F)............ Pristomerus vulnerator (Panzer, 1799)
