Taxonomic history. Junior subjective synonym of Ctenotilla Bischoff, 1920 (female) according to Brothers, 1975: 592 . Resurrected to generic status by Nonveiller, 1979: 81. Valid generic name.

Sex association. The female of the type species has not been recognized; the female was associated (based on specimens of several other species collected in copula) and described by Nonveiller, 1979: 8, 81.
