Synonym: Hydrachna lutescens Hermann, 1804 (original designation)
Type material: Unknown, possibly lost.
Type locality: Northern Europe ( Hermann 1804) .
Geographical distribution: Holarctic, remarkably Europe ( Gerecke et al. 2016).
Distribution in Portugal: South: Estremadura ( Valdecasas 1988), in Sintra-Monserrate Park and Palace ( Lundblad 1956).
Ecological notes: Freshwater ( Lundblad 1956), at pools of streams and small habitats with a short temporary water cover; Larval insects hosts: Chironomidae dipterans ( Gerecke et al. 2016).
Synonym: Hydrachna torris Müller, 1776 (original designation)
Type material: Unknown, possibly lost.
Type locality: Denmark (probably surroundings of Copenhagen) or Norway ( Müller 1776) .
Geographical distribution: Palaearctic ( Gerecke et al. 2016).
Distribution in Portugal: South: Estremadura ( Valdecasas 1988), in Sintra-Monserrate Park and Palace ( Lundblad 1956).
Ecological notes: In lentic freshwater ecosystems and small tributaries, including eutrophic, oligotrophic and dystrophic environments ( Gerecke et al. 2016).
