Type material: Holotype deposited at SMNH ( Di Sabatino et al. 2009)
Type locality: Portugal, Madeira Island ( Di Sabatino et al. 2009)
Geographical distribution: Holarctic distribution ( Di Sabatino et al. 2009)
Distribution in Portugal: Azores, Madeira (Bica da Cana) ( Di Sabatino et al. 2009)
Ecological notes: Larval host on culicid midges with high dispersal capacity ( Di Sabatino et al. 2009).
Remarks: This species is synonymous with T. barbigera ( Di Sabatino et al. 2009) since Lundblad only relied on a deuteronymph to describe the species knowing its similarity.
