Gnathosoma 58 (55–60), projecting down, pedipalp coxal seta (ep) 5 (5–6), dorsal pedipalp genual seta (d) 8 (7–8), cheliceral stylets 56 (56–57). Prodorsal shield subtriangular, 38 (38–39), 61 (60–62) wide; anterior shield lobe present; median line absent, admedian and submedian lines parallel. Scapular tubercles on rear margin, 34 (34–35) apart, scapular setae (sc) 30 (29–32) projecting forward. Coxal plates smooth; anterolateral setae on coxisternum І (1b) 15 (12–16), 16 (16–17) apart, proximal setae on coxisternum І (1a) 34 (32–36), 11 (11–12) apart, proximal setae on coxisternum І (2a) 48 (45–50), 32 (31–35) apart. Prosternal apodeme 10 (9–10). Legs with usual series of setae. Leg І 46 (44–48), femur 12 (12–13), basiventral femoral seta (bv) 19 (17–20); genu 7 (7–8), antaxial genual seta (l'') 34 (32–36); tibia 13 (12–14), paraxial tibial seta (l') 17 (17–18), located 1/3 from proximal tibial margin; tarsus 10 (10–11); tarsal empodium simple, 7-rayed, tarsal solenidion rod-like. Leg І 40 (38–42), femur 10 (10–11), basiventral femoral seta (bv) 21 (20–22); genu 6 (6–7), antaxial genual seta (l'') 17 (17–18); tibia 10 (10–11); tarsus 10 (10–11); tarsal empodium simple, 7-rayed, tarsal solenidion rod-like. Opisthosoma: opisthosoma dorsally with 34 (34–37) annuli, evenly rounded, with spiny microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin, anterior 11 to 13 dorsal annuli smooth at center, form a “V” shape, ventrally with 37 (36–37) annuli, with spiny microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin. Setae c2 28 (25–31) on ventral annulus 5 (4–5), 70 (68–72) apart; setae d 52 (50–55) on ventral annulus 12 (12–13), 50 (50–51) apart; setae e 43 (41–45) on ventral annulus 20 (18–20), 21 (21–22) apart, setae f 33 (31–34) on 6th ventral annulus from rear, 30 (30–32) apart. Setae h1 5 (5–6). Female genitalia 12 (12–13), 32 (32–33) wide, coverflap smooth, setae 3a 21 (20–22), 20 (20–21) apart.
MALE: Unknown.
Type material. Holotype, female, from Rosa sericea ssp. omeiensis ( Rosaceae ), Huayang, Shaanxi Province, China, 9 August 2005, coll. Xiao-Feng Xue and Zi-Wei Song. Paratypes, 6 females with the same data as holotype.
Relation to host. Vagrant on leaf undersurface. No damage to the host was observed.
Etymology. The specific designation sericeaomeiensis is from the host plant species name, sericea ssp. omeiensis.
Differential diagnosis. This species is similar to R. roxburghis Xue, Song & Hong, 2006 , but can be differentiated from the latter by dorsal annuli with spiny microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin (dorsal annuli smooth in R. roxburghis ), ventral annuli with spiny microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin (large, rough microtubercles projecting posteriad from the rear annular margin in R. roxburghis ), and scapular setae (sc) projecting forward (scapular setae projecting posterior in R. roxburghis ).
