Included species. Hirayacorophium includes three species: H. mortoni ( Hirayama, 1986) comb. nov.; H. tridentia ( Hirayama, 1986) comb. nov.; H, hongkongensis ( Hirayama, 1986) comb. nov.

Etymology. The replacement generic name is a compound noun derived from the dedication to Dr Akira Hirayama of the homonym Hirayamaia by Dr. Bousfield, together with the genus name Corophium .
